It was a rainy Thursday afternoon & I still had this gorgeous Graphic 45 “Voyage Beneath the Sea” paperpad lying around. Coincidentally, it was also Graphic 45 founder Diane Schultz birthday last month! It was cool to read the interesting article about her on the Graphic 45 blog here. I dediced to make this Steampunk Mermaid Box from two empty chocolate letter boxes (from Chocstar!) I kept in my stash for almost a year! The “before” boxes are on the last picture.
I found this wooden box for sale in the craftstore and I thought I could make something cool with it. The tissuepaper was giving me some trouble but I managed to get it together after all. I love the little steampunk light bulbs from Prima Marketing, they look so awesome!
Check out the video, which products I used and some more pictures after the jump!
Those of you who know me, probably know already that I love steampunk. So when I found this workshop kit online, I just had to make it! It is a gorgeous little mini album with a binder and chipboard cover and features great Marion Smith Designs papers. I loved making this album and if you continue to read, you can also see a video and lots more pictures! A detailed description is on YouTube itself.
Ikea; I never go there. Not because I don’t like it, but because it is so far away. I don’t have a car, so when I go I want to buy everything, but I have to rely on public transportation, so one can not take a whole bunch of stuff.
But, yesterday I went! And what a trip it was! They had a lot of cool things, but I had to control myself. Apparantly, Ikea also picked up on the revival of steampunk, because they currently sell a beautiful set of steampunk animal prints on heavy cardstock. They can be used as postcards, but also to be framed. Look at the cute steampunk kitty!
I couldn’t resist and why should I, they were only 2,50 euro (about $2) for a set of 5. I also picked up some other cards, botanical and art cards with birds. And a cool pillow with a map on it! And a clock. Wasn’t really sure about the clock, but it’s beginning to grow on me. Well, I also bought some more stuff (for organising and storage), but it’s not worth blogging about.
